Slimming Down to Bulk Up

To make room for the new recommendations we will be adding to the Breakthrough Tech Stocks portfolio we are revising the STI portfolios as described below.

Investments Portfolio

The Investments portfolio will be merged with the Smart Tech 50 portfolio since it always includes the top 10 rated stocks according to our STR (Smart Tech Rating) system as indicated in the far right column. Placing your cursor on the ‘STR’ column header and clicking once will rank all 50 stocks from lowest (worst) to highest (best); clicking on it a second time will rank them from highest to lowest.

 

Next Wave Portfolio

We are keeping all of the Next Wave portfolio stocks currently trading above their stop loss levels, but selling those that have recently fallen below those important support levels including:

Marketo (MKTO)

New Relic (NEWR)

Qualys (QLYS)

Splunk (SPLK)

Tableau Software (DATA)

 

Medical Profits Portfolio

The company just announced its COO is retiring and they are laying off staff to stay within budget, which can be interpreted both ways. If it means the interim test results are discouraging and the COO is getting thrown under the bus then that’s clearly bad news for its shareholders. But if it means the news will be good and the company is slimming down to get bought out by a big pharma company then that’s good news for shareholders. So far I have seen nothing to indicate trouble is on the way, and this type of cancer treatment has been getting a lot of very positive press lately thanks to Sean Parker’s $250 million commitment to help support research in this area.
