Yesterday, the European Central Bank (ECB) unveiled its latest monetary policy decision. The ECB trimmed its main interest rate to a record-low 0.05 percent from 0.15 percent. Furthermore, the central bank will punish banks more for keeping funds in its (virtual) vault, lowering the overnight deposit rate to minus 0.2 percent from minus 0.1 percent.
